Connect, Educate, Coordinate

Prevent Elder Abuse Manitoba is committed to building a team of partners and individuals who will share their knowledge, skills and expertise to prevent the abuse of older adults in Manitoba.

We understand your time is valuable and appreciate any and all time you can spare. You can Join the PEAM Team and help deliver education about how to Recognize, Review and Respond to abuse situations, or you can simply Join the PEAM Team and register to receive our newsletter, passing on interesting information when you can.

We have classified levels of involvement into three areas:

It's all about working to increase awareness about elder abuse.  Work with us by sharing and exchanging information.

Do you have information or ideas about initiatives or projects to help raise awareness or prevent elder abuse? Send us an email, we'd love to hear from you!

Help educate people in your community about the importance of knowing what elder abuse is and where people can go to receive support.

We provide training resources and tools to help you deliver general or financial abuse prevention presentations.

Check out the resources on WEAAD Manitoba website.

Education Events
Coordinate an education event to help raise awareness about the abuse of older adults.  Learning how to recognize, review and respond to concerning situations can go along way to reducing the isolation and fear of those facing these situations.

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD)
Coordinate an event in your workplace, school or community on June 15 to recognize World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD). It can be as easy as asking everyone to wear purple or planning a full day of events and education.  Register your event today to join communities, organizations and individuals across Manitoba who are raising awareness.

Together we can prevent the abuse of older adults in Manitoba!
